Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs Support Raskin for State Senate!
Clever Campaign to Endorse Environmental Candidates from Perspective of Blue Crabs Seeks New Political Leadership to Save the Bay

This week Jamie Raskin received the endorsement of the "Blue Crab Candidate Project" - a campaign to recognize candidates who will champion policies to reverse the degradation and decline of the Chesapeake Bay. The clever campaign puts the upcoming election in the perspective of a blue crab -- if they could vote who would they support?
Dr. Howard Ernst, Director of the Blue Crab Project and author of Chesapeake Bay Blues, has selected Jamie Raskin for this distinction: "You were chosen because of your strong commitment to environmental issues, because your record clearly indicates that you believe the Bay is worth the price of restoration, and because your actions suggest that you are willing to work across party and geographic lines to seek solutions for the Bay’s mounting problems."
Jamie accepted the distinction with pride, noting: "I grew up going to a rustic summer camp on the Bay, but many of the species that were around then are virtually gone now. Corporate polluters have been creating runoff and treating the Bay like a garbage dump for too long."
The Blue Crab Project seeks "new political leadership for the bay" and agrees that Jamie Raskin is the Democrat we need for District 20 and in Annapolis.
