Jamie Raskin Applauds Doug Duncan's Service to Mongtomery County Residents
"Let's all offer Doug support and rally behind my friend Martin O'Malley"

Jamie Raskin: "I salute Doug Duncan for his many decades of service to Montgomery County as a mayor and county executive and, as I told him last night when I saw him, wish him well in his treatment and recovery. It took a lot of courage and mental
toughness for him to stop in the middle of the campaign to talk about what's going on in his life now. Public life can be rough and treacherous terrain, but Doug's graceful exit from the Governor's race sets an example for all of us in politics to pay careful attention to the state of our own minds, which are the central asset we bring to our work and service. Let's all offer Doug whatever support he needs and rally behind my good friend Martin O'Malley, the next Governor of our state, as we march ahead to take Maryland back."
Baltimore Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Martin O'Malley appeared and spoke at a Raskin for State Senate fundraiser in Baltimore on Saturday, March 11. Mayor O'Malley told the crowd of 75 that "Jamie has the character, the intelligence and the passion to do truly important things in Annapolis. It will be a great day when my friend Jamie takes a seat in the Senate." Jamie has urged "all my fellow Democrats to rally around O'Malley for Governor. I've known Martin for two decades and he's a brilliant guy with enormous drive and energy. He's going to lead the revitalization of the Democratic Party in Maryland and I'm going to be right by his side as we take Maryland back from the Republicans and shape a new politics in our state."
